Larynx cancer



The laryngeal cancer , a type of cancer of throat, approximately 2,100 new cases are diagnosed each year in Spain. Fortunately, these numbers are decreasing as fewer people choose to smoke.

This cancer is located in the larynx, the area of ​​the throat that includes the vocal cords. It consists of three parts:

Glottis: intermediate portion of the larynx that contains the vocal cords
Supraglottis: area above the vocal cords
Subglottis: area between the vocal cords and the trachea
The symptoms of laryngeal cancer include:


  • Hoarseness and other changes in the voice
  • Problems swallowing or breathing
  • Pain , persistent sore throat
  • Pain Ear
  • Bulk in the neck


The presence of one or more of the above symptoms does not necessarily imply that you have cancer of the larynx . However, it is important that you consult these symptoms with your doctor, as they could indicate other health problems.
